Gospel-Shaped Decisions and Care as Followers of Jesus

Hospitals, governments, and churches are institutions, or “groupings of social practices where beliefs are lived out in service.” There is a risk that activities in and through these institutions become empty, unjust forms if an ethical core is lost (or never established). This session will explore how health care workers have opportunities to re-integrate form with substance. We can complement ‘see one-do one-teach one’ clinical skill development with ‘caught not taught’ modeling of ethical, respectful care. We’ll work through what it looks like to share day-to-day ethical struggles with colleagues and patients, and in those situations, share our gospel-shaped decisions and care as followers of Jesus.
