 2018 Free Lives TIP Exhibit

LOCATED UPSTAIRS IN THE STUDENT BUILDING/BLOCK AUDITORIUM

A glimpse into the lives of trafficking victims.

The Free Lives traveling exhibit has a single WIN - to build awareness of the global issues surrounding human trafficking so that individuals are convicted and know how to take a step toward personal action in alleviating this global problem.

About the National Trafficking Sheltered Alliance

The field of residential care for survivors of sexual exploitation/prostitution/trafficking is relatively new. According to our 2017 “Practices” survey, the average agency offering shelter services for trafficking victims has only 5.28 years of experience. With a field this new, we need to be intentional about supporting one another, continuously learning, and working together to advance the profession.

Therefore, the Alliance has been established with the following objectives: to offer a feature-rich online platform where members can share and learn, develop professional education to increase staff and leadership competencies, assert standards of care leading to levels of accreditation, and work together with service providers to ensure the highest quality of care for survivors.

Global Health, Rights and Justice

The world needs to hear from the Christian faith-based community. Human flourishing requires spiritual engagement to empower the conscience of health systems. Besides regular submissions of original research, we are seeking articles that help address these and other related questions from a biblically informed and experiential point of view. We need to hear from those who are doing something to address these critical issues and to be a voice for justice in the healing of nations.

Deadline for submissions on this topic is 31 March 2019

The HEAL Trafficking Protocol Toolkit

This systems toolkit is designed to help professionals working in health care settings such as emergency departments, hospitals, clinics, private offices, or school based health centers develop a protocol to respond to potential victims of human trafficking who present to their facility. The toolkit presents an ambitious, comprehensive approach to protocol development, portions of which may be adopted for particular contexts based on capacity. The document is based on existing guidelines and recommendations from experts in this field.
