The Holy Spirit is one member of the Trinity, along with the Father God and Jesus. The Holy Spirit empowered Jesus for ministry, and Jesus foretold that the Holy Spirit would come to all true believers to be an Advocate, Helper, Strengthener, Counselor, Intercessor, and Advisor. The coming of the Holy Spirit was prophesied in the Old Testament and documented in the New Testament, giving comfort, power, boldness, direction, revelation, and other gifts to the followers of Jesus.
For those providing health care to the sick, the Holy Spirit will help as we seek to minister wholeness and healing to those in need. The Spirit will assist, guide, speak to, and instruct those who are actively seeking the leading of the Spirit, enabling the care being provided to go beyond intellectual and academic knowledge and training. Learning to recognize and listen to the voice of the Spirit is possible and vital for those who seek to provide whole-person health and healing for those who come for help.
