We are entering week four of our trip and should be able to either complete 10 water projects or at least supply the equipment to our African counterparts to finish them after we leave. This includes not only our SWIM CPU, but also a battery, solar panel, charge controller, test kit, Bibles, and other materials to enable them to disinfect their water and to reach out and share the love of Christ with others in surrounding areas. Based on past results and our best estimates, that will be about 500 or more people per village. That’s over 5,000 people on this trip that have had their lives changed forever! I am not one to place much emphasis on numbers, but to reach 5,000 people with a single donation of $5,000 funding this trip is amazing to me. How many wouldn’t be overjoyed to know that each dollar they give changes one life! In many cases, not just positively affects a life, but saves it.
We’ve heard countless stories and testimonies on this trip about cholera, typhoid, and dysentery being eliminated in communities where before the child mortality rate was as high as 70%. We know of at least 3 churches being started and dozens of others experiencing phenomenal growth because of the CPU and the gospel of Jesus being spread as it is given out. In 14 years of trips, I’ve never experienced so much need and so many willing volunteers that are meeting those needs in the way that I always envisioned the Lord wanted this ministry to be used.
