In the summer of 2015, I had the opportunity to stay with New Frontiers Health Force in Kenya for 6 weeks. This experience was the most eye-opening, humbling experiences I have ever had. Through this experience I came to value health care, education, and human life on a much deeper level. A couple of the stories that will be forever etched in my mind will be of the sick babies that came into the clinic while I was working there. It was winter in Kenya and it seemed like every baby in the village had pneumonia and was struggling to breathe. It was a sobering experience to give babies breathing treatments, hold them while waiting for an ambulance to arrive, and praying unceasingly. I can't explain what it feels like to sit there and just hope they are still breathing when the ambulance comes, because the babies airway is almost swollen shut. In these moments my reliance on God was more apparent then I had ever seen. Crying out to him deep within my soul was something I had never experienced in this way.

These babies were tiny and innocent with scared parents who didn't always understand what was going on. At this time I saw physical and spiritual needs that were being met by The New Frontiers Health Force staff. I am so thankful for the staff, Dr. Tonya, and Linda and everything who is partnering with New Frontiers Health Force. They are changing the lives of so many in Kenya through Health Care and Education, and I am so thankful for everything they taught me during my internship this past summer.

The needs are great, but The Lord is greater.
