Besides serving God and forming relationships with nationals, I enjoy the camaraderie and fellowship with the team. Teach to Transform has the best teams I have ever been on. Well, it seems that something unusual always happens to me on every trip. I went to Peru and loved it. I was a little put off that there was no hot water IN THE ENTIRE TOWN. It wasn’t that you had hot water only every other day—there was no hot water at all--Ever--seriously. I had hot water in Afghanistan for Pete’s sake! Well, I was coping with that until the sink in my room started falling off the wall. Every time my roommate would touch it, down it would go and we would have to get it back into the wall pipes. Try doing that while laughing your head off. It would occasionally flood the room so we asked if the proprietor would fix it. Upon returning to our room, we found the sink tied to the wall with just a string and the top of the white sink caulked with red caulk. LOL I love how God puts me in circumstances that cause me to depend upon Him, to stretch my level of first world comfort (an idol I struggle with at times), to give me opportunities to laugh at myself, to bond with people who are of a different culture, to bond with people who are of the same culture and to have good stories to tell. Join us on a trip, it just may change your life!
