One 18 year old boy's life was forever changed by one of our mobile clinics in remote Guatemala. Here's the short story:
When I first saw this boy, he had a lump protruding from his chest. He was made fun of because of it so he came to our clinic to see if we could remove it. So we numbed him up and took it off. Towards the end of the procedure he started crying and we were concerned he was in pain. We asked him and he said, "No. No. I am just so, so thankful!!" We all cried with him because we all knew how profoundly this would affect him in the future. He was no longer the town "freak" but a normal kid now. Both he and his mother decided to follow Jesus that day. We then connected him with the local pastor that we work with to follow up.
It was such a poignant moment that I will never forget it!
