My husband and I spent 7 weeks in Cambodia in 2014. I saw patients and taught advanced wound care while my husband repaired equipment. We began our time in Cambodia working with floating villages off of the Tonle Sap Lake while on the Ship of Life with Partners in Progress out of Maumelle, AR, and then we worked with the staff of the Angkor Hospital for Children in Siem Reap. We were able to conduct our research to define usual practice for wound management in rural areas of tropical developing countries with the assistance of both organizations and Cambodian church of Christ leaders, who provided interpreters. We also helped create educational materials for teaching SODIS (solar water disinfection) to villagers. We were surprised at how interested the Cambodians were in learning what the Bible has to say about health. The fact that the health laws written in Moses' time make sense based upon the science we have today is a powerful witness for divine inspiration. Please pray for open hearts in Cambodia.
