God got me involved in studying and teaching about HIV in 1985. Since then He has allowed me to speak to students in school assemblies in 38 states and now has me serving as a missionary empowering local people to be HIV educators and develop creative new ways to do HIV education and ministry unique to their own culture.
I have had the joy of facilitating almost 60 seminars in 21 countries on 4 continents and am looking forward to seeing what God has for me in the future.
HIV is a problem in every region of the world. It is also a wonderful opportunity for Christians to reach out to their communities with the Gospel and with messages that encourage people to avail themselves of the abundant life Jesus offers in John 10:10 by making life choices that are consistent with His plan for their lives.
Through facilitated discussion over a five-day period with about 20 participants in each seminar, people are challenged to look deeply at their own cultures to discover ways to motivate their people. They graduate from the seminar with a thorough understanding of HIV and ways to explain things in terms understandable to people of any educational level. They also discover effective ways to replace stigma and discrimination with friendship, compassion, caring, and hope.
I would be blessed to pray with you about offering seminars to the people in your part of the world. Just email me (duane@HIVHope.net).
