During our August Malaria Awareness Project in Nigeria, Divine Missions' focus was to provide free healthcare, However, we discovered a lot more than what we imagined. The residents of this shelter of over 2500 residents were drinking brownish orange water because they could not afford to clean their water. Our team could not ignore this so we began to look for ways to include this in our outreach. Thankfully, we ended up installing a new water treatment system with the help of Convoy of Hope and also replaced the pumping machine which was donated by an individual. We also thought we may end up short staffed because we did not have a quarter of the medical volunteers needed as of 3 weeks to the project. However, God showed up and we suddenly had volunteers from the different hospitals we reached out to requesting to volunteer with our organization on this project. This reminded us that when God places an order, He truly pays for it! Our biggest breakthrough was that this was a Muslim community and to experience this outreach opportunity was a huge blessing to me especially.
