When we went to Africa, we learned the planes can leave early from smaller islands, if deemed necessary. Several hours early. No problem, just fly to a bigger island and carry on. We were greeted by the Mayor at a dinner one night. The village were all treated in one week-wheeew. I prayed to be stretched since Dentistry was not my main specialty.
One night after all were tucked in at the hotel, some fireworks were set off in the wee hours. I was shocked to realize later that no one else got dressed and slipped onto the stairway to go tactical. I had just returned from the battlezone that year.
