New Birth: I was born again on 6th June 1990 in a gospel campaign at Uhuru Park by Larry Jones. I had gone through a Bible correspondence course since 1982 by SOON gospel broadsheet publishers. As Larry Jones preached on Revelation 21:1 – 4, I knew I needed to be in a place where God, “will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed way”

Education and Training: I received a scholarship to join the Starehe Boys Center and School. I did sciences so that I would pursue a career as a medical doctor – my ambition was to be either an orthopedic surgeon or neurosurgeon. I qualified to University of Nairobi and did the first year of the required 6 years of medical study. Over the years, I have received training in Teaching English As A Second Language, certification as a Project Management Professional, some missions’ courses and I am a Masters in Organizational Leadership student at the Bright Leadership Center, International Leadership University (NIST), Nairobi.

My call and its development: When I got born again, I posed a question to the Lord after reading three biographies of Billy Graham, Dr. Paul Freed (Founder of Transworld Radio) and Dale Halloway, “Now that I am born again, what do you want to do with my life?” He answered with one word, “missionary”. I had no idea what it meant as a new Christian. Then He gave me Genesis 12:1-3, the calling to Abraham. I knew I had to take three steps: leave my country, my people and household to wherever He would lead. Additionally in response to Ephesians 2:10, He called me teach His word. I met Pam at the missions’ training school. We got married in 1994. The Lord has blessed us with four children: Michael and Abraham (18 years), Joan (16 years) and Emma (11 years). This journey has led us to 10 years in a muslim people group (1992 – 2002) through The Sheepfold Ministries; working with abandoned babies (2005 – 2010) through New Life Home Trust; serving the churches among the poor communities in Kenya and neighboring countries (2005 -2010) through Life In Abundance International in Kenya and in Ghana (2010 – 2013) through Hope Alive Initiatives.

Our dreams for the future: We want to see an awakened church to and among the poor and vulnerable communities sharing the gospel, discipling their people and demonstrating the love of God at individual and corporate level. Seeing believers who had been inward looking, discouraged and with low self-esteem rise up to trust God to reach out with their available resources has brought joy and satisfaction that as the darkness covers the earth the light of Lord is arising upon His people in remarkable ways.

Encouragement: Ministry and missions belong to God. He has taken the initiative and He is inviting us to join Him in His work. He is the Lord of the Harvest, daily asking, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” If we respond like Isaiah did in surrender, “Here am I. Send Me”, He will take your hand and lead you. He calls, He prepares (in His own school) and He commissions. He will engineer your support system: through the ravens, through the widows, through the work of your hands, through family, friends, churches etc. Just respond to His leading. His promise of His presence of God is His only affirmation to your life and ministry.
