I was born in the U.S. but grew up in Taiwan until 18. I had a dream to go to China to serve as a Christian physician since I was in high school. Therefore, I went to Beijing, China for medical school and stayed there for 11 years. During the 11 years in Beijing, I got M.D. degree and had 5 years residency rotation in internal medicine, including 1 year of chief resident.
However, it's complicated and not easy to find a stable job in China with U.S. citizenship if I only have Chinese license. So I have decided to take USMLE and be trained in the states. After the training, I might choose to stay in the states or go back to China, depending on His plan.
In the past 1 year, I worked in a medical related company helping them write medical data, joined free clinic in rural area in southern China and took some time in an international clinic setting learning with American and Canadian family physicians. In the same time, I passed step 1 of USMLE. I am preparing for step 2 now.
My prayer request is that things can go well in the path, including step 2 exam, finding chances for observership and applying for residency. And hopefully I can learn more about Him and His will in my life.
