“And He was saying to them, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest”. Luke 10: 2
Stone of Help Ministry have been working closely with Churches and Christian Organization in the Third World, such as Shammah Ministries of Tanzania. How is wonderful to see how people there are hungry and thirsty for the word of God. On one hand there are many marginalized communities such as Masai who live in forests and other tribe such as Nyamwanga tribe who live in remote of Mbeya and other marginalized community who need to know how God loves them. On the other hand Tanzania has been built on Islamic cultural practices, therefore it is not easy for Ministers to evangelize Muslims, the easy way to reach Muslims is through Medias such as Television and Radio.
With eagerness and commitment to spread the Good news of Christ to the unreached, Rt Rev, Lawrence Mapunda faces many challenges. Like many Ministers, Lawrence do a voluntarily work the work is so intense so that he can’t do other job. Only his wife Chistabella do work to support the family. They should be supported by the congregation they are serving but some marginalized communities are very poor and are more in need of help. In some area of Tanzania transport is an issue this is due to the fact that some community who are unreached live in a remote area which lack access to social services, such as main roads, schools, hospitals even markets. Therefore many people rely on Lawrence’s car for any emergency. Lawrence confessed to me how several times women deliver their babies into his car. This happen while they are being taken to hospitals which are far miles away!
As an eye witness of the hardships the servants of God Lawrence Mapunda is facing and as you can see on pictures, I do invite readers to pray for him and for the work of Stone of Help and Shammah Ministries: Those willing to join the team are welcomed. Do visit the web site above, there is many opportunities: If you feel God is telling you to share this Christmas by donating to Shammah Ministries a means of transport, any other project the ministry has please do so! Merry Christmas and a Happy new year 2016.
