We had a great time in Panama. There were 5 clinics where we saw and treat 276 people. The Kuna and Ngobe Indigenous Indians were in hard to reach villages.
Pictured is an eight year old boy who lives far away from medical help. If he had a clinic close there would be no money for the visit. Let me introduce to you Santiago. He lives in the village of Llano Tugri and is affected by a common disease called Scabies. With one week of medication his face will not scar. We had two church services with clinics after church. Then we took an hour and half hike to Alto Rey and had clinic in the new church structure that had just been there 3 weeks. The church was started with one family getting saved. The woman who was blind walked 3 hrs to get to church. This is when Bro. Nathan started making weekly trips. It was a rough mountain trail but we made it back! We had our biggest clinic the next day with around 100 patients. Here we did several eye exams. With the glasses they were able to read the bible, some for the first time. Thank you for the prayers for Sis. Pam, she gave us a scare and we had to take her to the hospital while there. She had to be treated for altitude hypertension and had a bad case of shingles. I want to leave you with a prayer request for Bro. Victor. He pastors a Kuna church about an hour away from Panama City. The Kunas have a silas or chief who dictates what can happen in the village. The Silas has tried to shut down his church and Bro. Victor refuses. When we went they had not been able to have church for 3 weeks. We were able to take them “gifts” and get the basic medication to them. They will be outcasts in the village unless the Lord changes the Silas heart. Please “remember your brother” as we have recently heard the message preached.
Once again we want to thank Blessings International for being our medication supplier. This time we were able to get Malaria medication and a test kit. Our next trip will be to the San Blas Islands. Here is where we will see the Malaria more prevalent.
