I have been always passionate about mission work . I have had my share of participation in funding orphanages prior to getting passionate about my current activity which is medical missions. In order to achieve my dream I founded an organization called "let them smile again inc" with a friend who in the past had been actively involved in medical Missions.
We recently undertook a very successful medical mission trip to my native in India in association with an reputed surgical organization that provided us with doctors, nurses an supplies. We funded the project with our money. We had some surgeons from India as well in our team. We did about 63 general surgeries mostly hernia, prostrate related. for the underprivileged, after careful scanning.
Our biggest challenge was that the hospital was not well equipped for surgeries. Prior to our going we created an operation theater that was functional but not upto the stanrdard. Our main concern was infection control given the sanitary conditions in India.However by grace of our lord everything went well. We have been getting request for more camps and intent to go to India again in November 2015. We would need doctors and nurses and supplies and was wondering if anyone in this group would volunteer for such trip.All funding will be done my me & my co founder partner. We reimburse hospital a certain amount for use of facility and staff.
